Halloween Weeknd has a whole new meaning. Universal Studios just announced the debut of The Weeknd: After Hours Nightmare, a new haunted house coming to Halloween Horror Nights this year. The Grammy-winning artist is taking his signature dark imagery from his After Hours album and crafting a new, terrifying experience alongside executive producer John Murdy.
“I always wanted my own…haunted house as Halloween has always been significant to my music, so this is a total dream come to life. I feel like my music videos have served as a launching pad for a collaboration like this, and I cannot wait for people to experience this madness!” shared The Weeknd.
His After Hours album era brought about a dark alter-ego for The Weekend that he expanded upon in performances. Since then, songs from the 2020 album like Blinding Lights, In Your Eyes, and Save Your Tears have ruled the charts.
Previously, only Slash from Guns N’ Roses and Alice Cooper have had the honor of collaborating with Universal on haunted houses inspired by their music. Music fans have long called for artists like Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, and recently Billie Eilish to have their own Horror Nights haunted houses as well.
Tickets for Halloween Horror Nights are on sale now, with dates ranging between September 2nd - October 31st for Universal Studios Orlando and September 8th - October 31st for Universal Studios Hollywood.
